Bebo founder invests in Twitter application.

A pair of IT entrepreneurs who previously invested in Bebo and Lastminute.com are helping to provide financial backing to a new application for Twitter. Brent Hoberman and Michael Birch are among a team of investors fronting £1.2 million to support TweetDeck.

The application has become one of the most popular among Twitter users with as many as 15 per cent of tweets sent via the platform.Tweetdeck helps improve the way messages are organised while allowing users to group the people they follow together. The investment was made via PROfounders Capital, a new investment fund targeting start-up businesses.

Sean Seton-Rogers, general partner of PROfounders, told the Times: 'A lot of funds are focused on making sure that the companies they have already invested in survive, they are internally focused, but we are ready to build this legacy. We are open for business and looking for deals.'

Jordan, aka Katie Price, was voted as the worst Twitter user in a new survey by one-poll.com.

How does this effect Brick customers?

The investment into Tweetdeck can only help improve the impact that social networking sites have on businesses and individuals. Tweetdeck allows users to keep up to date with Facebook, Twitter and more. Meaning more opportunities to put your business infront on potential customers.
